Apple News Rumors Spreading All Day

In fact, rumors are just unconfirmed tales or facts about individuals that have been passed from one person to another; they can also be a gossip.

They can have a lot in them, such as personal matters, events, or public figures, with huge social, emotional, or economic impacts on individuals or groups.

New Apple products

Apple M4 Mac models and iPad mini

Heard that on November 1, Apple will announce the new M4 Mac and an updated iPad mini. That’s exciting, of course. No confirmation until launch, though.

And if the product actually is finally released, the following drivers for focus will be performance boosters and such, not the battery life or display improvements.

Best thing to do is wait for it on the official Apple channels.

Of course, Given Apple’s notorious product-announcement style, this isn’t set in stone. Indeed, it’s more than possible that we won’t see an actual refresh until 2025, but the rumor mill keeps on churning.

So, until we get official word, we’re keeping an ear to the ground for all the latest news and rumors, and bringing them all together in one place to keep you up-to-date on the latest developments.

iPadOS 18.0.1

iPadOS 18.0.1 is out now with bug fixes.

Apple hasn’t announced anything on the iPadOS 18.0.1 but you may want to look at the Software Update section of Settings on your iPad to see if an update is available for download.

New iPad Mini

The new iPad Mini is compatible with Final Cut Pro, but it doesn’t have Stage Manager

Apple has updated the App Store listing for its professional video editing application, Final Cut Pro, to show support for both M-series chips and the A17 Pro chip in the new iPad mini.

Another of Apple’s applications, its audio editing app, Logic Pro, is also supported on the new iPad mini, as that app just needs any iPad model and an A12 Bionic chip or newer.

Some features of Final Cut Pro may not be compatible with the latest iPad mini, because of either hardware or software limitations, a description of the app shows.

We also tested Stage Manager and found that it does not support the new iPad mini – no surprise, because the new 8.3-inch version of an iPad mini is much smaller compared to the larger 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro and iPad Air models.

In supported iPads, Stage Manager will allow users to resize apps into overlapping windows to greatly enhance the multitasking experience.

Stage Manager also fully supports an external display with up to 6K resolution, so users can work with up to four apps on iPad at once and up to four on the external display.

Accessibility features

Apple announced new accessibility features, including Eye Tracking

Apple today announced new accessibility features coming later this year. Among them is to be the Eye Tracking ability to control either your iPad or iPhone using eyes.

Apart from the above, Music Haptics will let deaf or hearing impaired users sense music through Taptic Engine on iPhone, so that they can accomplish tasks by making a custom sound through Vocal Shortcuts.

Vehicle Motion Cues includes reducing motion sickness when an iPhone or iPad uses one in a moving vehicle, and more accessibility features will come to visionOS.

These bring together the benefit of Apple’s hardware and software to access the Apple silicon, artificial intelligence, and machine learning for seeking out Apple’s long-standing focus on designing products for everyone.

Eye tracking arrives on iPad and iPhone

Eye Tracking Built directly into iPad and iPhone, and powered by artificial intelligence, it’s an in-built functionality for navigation using just your eyes.

Designed for people who use wheelchairs, it uses the front-facing camera to set up and calibrate in seconds. With on-device machine learning, the system keeps all the data used to set up and control this feature securely on the device and does not share it with Apple.

iPadOS and iOS apps support Eye Tracking without requiring additional accessories or hardware.

People could move further in handling the components of an app and command it with Dwell Control to activate a general or particular component with eyes;

hence, unlock access to additional functions like buttons for controlling the physical objects to turn them off or on, swipes or any other gesture.

Music Haptics Makes Songs More Accessible

It is an all-new way in which deaf or hard-of-hearing iPhone users can experience music. But when users turn on that accessibility feature, it broadcasts taps, textures, and fine vibrations via the Taptic Engine on iPhones while allowing them to experience audio in the music.
Music Haptics will be available in millions of songs across Apple Music catalog and will be provided as an API for developers in order to make music more accessible to their apps.

New Features for a Wide Range of Speech

With the introduction of Vocal Shortcuts, iPhone and iPad users can assign custom utterances that Siri can understand for initiating shortcuts and for completing complex tasks.

Listen for Atypical Speech, another feature, allows a user to opt to improve speech recognition for a broader range of speech.

Listen for Atypical Speech uses on-device machine learning to recognize how you use your voice.
Designed for users with acquired or progressive conditions that affect speech, such as cerebral palsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or stroke, these features offer an all-new level of personalization and control, building on features announced in iOS 17 for nonspeaking users, or those at risk of losing their ability to speak.

Vehicle Motion Cues Can Help Reduce Motion Sickness

Vehicle Motion Cues is a new experience for iPhone and iPad that helps reduce motion sickness when passengers are in moving vehicles.
Research studies have established that the most common cause of motion sickness is based on a conflict between what a person sees and how they feel; this can prevent some users from being able to comfortably ride in a moving vehicle while using iPhone or iPad.
With Vehicle Motion Cues, animated dots on the edge of the screen help to represent changes in vehicle motion in a way that mitigates sensory conflict without distracting users from their content.
Vehicles provide opportunities to detect whether a user is in a moving vehicle and will behave accordingly by carrying sensors within iPhone and iPad. The feature can be set to show automatically on iPhone, or can be turned on and off in Control Center.

CarPlay Gets Voice Control, More Accessibility Updates

Other accessibility features of CarPlay include Voice Control, Color Filters, and Sound Recognition. With this, users can navigate and control apps by speaking.
Users who are deaf or hard of hearing can turn on alerts to become aware of car horns and sirens with Sound Recognition. For colorblind users, the CarPlay interface is visually easier to use, together with the additional options Bold Text for further visual accessibility.

Accessibility Features Coming to visionOS

This year, accessibility features available on visionOS include system-wide Live Captions so that everyone-from people who are deaf or hard of hearing to everyone else-can easily follow along with spoken dialogue in live conversations and in audio from apps.
Building on years of innovation in FaceTime, Live Captions for FaceTime in visionOS enable an even more users to easily enjoy the unique experience of connecting and collaborating through their Personal.
Users can drag captions by the window bar while using Apple Immersive Video. Additionally, people will support more Made for iPhone hearing devices and cochlear hearing processors in the Apple Vision Pro.
